Day 1

I was hoping to get bumped from my flight to Puerto Vallarta because the flight was really full and I wanted to get a free airline ticket. I got bumped but not off the flight. I got bumped to first class. I asked the ticket agent if she could change my seat so that I wouldn´t have to sit in a center seat. She said sure. I didn´t realize it was first class until I was boarding the plane and saw that my seat number was 1A. I had a nice lunch on the plane with a margarita (Trish´s recommendation). It was very pleasant but not as luxurious as business class to India.

The flight was fine and I managed to get a bus to the area with hotels. I looked at 3 hotels before I found one that was okay. The first was scary looking even for me. The 2nd had jackhammers going all the time and the third was fine. I´m staying at Hotel Lina. It´s adequate but I don´t have a light or a hot shower. I need to ask them to change the bulb in my room but somehow it seems like an ordeal. Luckily the light in the bathroom is working so I can see a little.

I went swimming yesterday and then hung out in a bar until the afternoon rain stopped. It was funny to watch the people in the rain because they don´t seem to care. They just get completely soaked. Many people continued to swim in the lightning storm. My waitress ran out into the waves with all her clothes and her waitressing apron on after she was completely soaked from the rain.

Today I will take a bus to the next beach down from here. It´s about 12 km south and it is where they filmed ¨The night of the Iguana¨

Tomorrow I will probably head out to Guadalajara.

I just did spell check but just about every word is highlighted in yellow for being spelled wrong. I guess the spell check is checking for spanish. According to spell check I spelled - a bus, 12 km, and Iguana - correctly
